Rheology of Concentrated Colloidal Suspensions
Rheology investigates the flow and deformation of matter under applied forces. My research focuses on concentrated colloidal suspensions, particularly on the phenomenon of shear thickening, where a fluid exhibits an increase in viscosity under increasing shear stress.
The objective of this work is to understand the microscopic mechanisms responsible for structural transitions in colloidal systems and their influence on macroscopic flow behavior. Theoretical models are combined with experimental observations to describe phase transitions, particle interactions, and non-Newtonian flow properties.
