Research Philosophy

My research focuses on the mathematical modeling of complex systems in physics and economics.

A central question underlying this work is whether physical and socioeconomic systems are governed by common evolutionary principles.

Research in colloidal physics investigates phase transitions, shear thickening and structural phenomena in concentrated suspensions. In evolutionary economics, similar mathematical approaches are applied to product life cycles, market dynamics, firm growth, innovation and price formation.

The overarching objective is the identification of universal mechanisms that explain the emergence, evolution and self-organization of complex systems.
